He has more than 20 years of experience in the public sector. He served as an Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Housing and Local Government and the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology from 1973 to 1975 and a Senior Project Officer and Lecturer at Institut Tadbiran Awam Negara ("INTAN"), Kuala Lumpur from 1975 to 1980, before joining the Kuantan Municipal Council in 1980 as Chief Administrator and in 1986 as Deputy President. In 1990, he was appointed the General Manager of Pahang State Foundation and held this position until 1995. |
